Blanche Hoschedé-Monet was a French Impressionist painter, who was born in Paris to a prosperous patron of Claude Monet. When her mother married the artist she became the step-daughter of Claude, under whom she recieved artistic traning and later served as his trusted assistant. In 1897, she solidified her connection to the Monet family by marrying Jean Monet, Claude's son.
