Grace Harlow is a Senior Appraiser at Czudej McDonough in New York, serving collectors, galleries, and their legal and financial representatives on valuation matters in Post-War, Contemporary, and Emerging Art. Her practice encompasses appraisals for insurance, charitable contribution, damage and loss, and equitable distribution purposes.
Grace began her career in 2015 as an appraisal assistant to an independent appraiser in Washington, D.C., providing research for charitable contribution appraisals, before joining Christie’s, New York, as a provenance and research assistant in the Old Master Paintings and Impressionist & Modern departments. Following completion of the Appraisers Association of America’s Comprehensive Appraisal Studies Program in 2017, she joined O’Toole-Ewald Art Associates, where she prepared appraisals for insurance, damage and loss, equitable distribution, and charitable contribution purposes. From 2019 to 2021, she was a Senior Specialist at The RealReal, providing valuation services across fine and decorative art. From 2021 to 2023, she was an appraiser at Masterworks, where she executed quarterly appraisals of Post-War, Contemporary, and Ultra-Contemporary works used to calculate net asset values across the company’s portfolio.
Grace is a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America, where she serves on the Membership Committee. She will speak on a panel at the Association’s annual conference, Of Value, in New York in November 2026. She holds an MA in Art History and Museum Studies from Georgetown University, a certificate in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, and a BA in Art History, magna cum laude, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She is compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
